In order to reduce the emissions of air pollutants from energy production, encourage efficient use of energy and water, and develop further investments in building a green economy, this ordinance requires that the City and building owners disclose the previous year's energy and water usage of City and non-City buildings, and other building characteristics necessary to evaluate absolute and relative energy use intensity.
