Universal Basic Income (UBI) is a cash payment granted to all members of a community on a regular basis, regardless of employment status or income level. This guide provides recommendations to cities looking to pilot UBI policies. In particular, it provides tips on how cities should design their UBI pilot (i.e. how much to give, choosing the targeted population), identifies potential funding sources, compares different research strategies that can be used to test UBI's effectiveness, and more.
