This report explains how a "Healthy Food Zone Ordinance" can regulate the proximity of fast food restaurants and convenience stores to schools, parks, childcare centers, or other locations frequented by children. It also includes a model ordinance which prohibits fast food restaurants from locating near schools and childcare centers, and restricts the hours of operation for mobile food vendors in school zones.
