This report outlines the tactics gig economy transportation and delivery corporations have utilized to undermine communities and exploit workers and customers. It finds that these corporations fund aggressive lobbying campaigns to drive statewide preemption policies that ban localities from regulating their own communities, threaten local elected officials with negative campaign blaming them price increases and customer service degradation, and superficially embrace progressive talking points while opposing policies that would improve hazardous working conditions.
