The CNT's Housing + Transportation Affordability Index examines the impact of local efficiency on transportation costs and overall affordability in 337 US metropolitan areas. This report uses publicly available interactive tools developed by CNT to show that transportation costs are influenced by location efficiency, with low-cost transportation found in compact, mixed-use neighborhoods.
