Title IX Fact Sheet

Type Fact Sheet or Infographic
Year 2024
Level School Board, School District
State(s) All States
Policy Areas Children & Families, Civil Rights, Education
The Department of Education's Title IX provides protections for transgender and LGBTQIA+ students, pregnant and parenting students, and for all students facing sex-based harassment and assault. School districts nationwide struggle to navigate the legal and political expectations in their community. School leaders must remember that Title IX is a floor, not a ceiling, and they have the power to implement additional trans-inclusive and anti-harassment policies to protect their students and staff.
