Cities should consider implementing congestion pricing to manage urban traffic congestion, which can both mitigate traffic and raise public revenues. This article highlights best practices in establishing a congestion pricing system, as demonstrated by Stockholm, which combines road tolls with increased public transportation capacity. This case study highlights how congestion pricing can improve transportation efficiency, environmental sustainability, and public health by reducing traffic, pollution, and noise. Time savings and cost increases are also critical factors in gaining voter support for congestion tolls.
