Our nation lacks coordinated mass shooting responses and it falls on our nation's mayors to respond. This playbook provides mayors and city managers with the resources to prepare for, respond, and recover from a public mass shooting. It recommends regular updates to the media every three hours and on schedule briefings, coordination with mental health and behavioral health experts to provide psychological aid to victims and witnesses, and collaborating with local organizations and agencies that provide services to victims of crime in the city.
