Most vehicle-bike conflicts occur at intersections, making intersection design a critical component of streets that are safe for bicyclists of all ages and abilities. This guide provides recommendations regarding protected bike intersections, dedicated bike intersections, minor street crossings, and signal phasing strategies. These tools can reduce turning speeds, increase the visibility of people bicycling, and clarify right of way at intersections.
