New York Sustainability Indicators

This fact sheet addresses inadequate transportation infrastructure and sustainability in New York. Local elected officials can utilize the sustainability indicators, identified key decision-makers, and policy recommendations to improve environmental sustainability and economic development. Examples include improving public transportation, implementing Complete Streets principles, and the Carbon Reduction Strategy. Transportation investments are being funded through federal funds and state trust funds, with projects prioritized by NYSDOT in coordination with local partners.
