Keep Public Funds in Texas Public Schools: Reject Harmful Private School Voucher Programs

Private school voucher programs negatively affect public education in Texas and across the nation. When state resources are funneled away from investing in public schools into funding voucher programs it disproportionately harms the most vulnerable students. Voucher schools are not held to the same standards of transparency and accountability, they exacerbate school segregation, and negatively impact student outcomes. While decisions about vouchers are made at the state level, it is essential for local school boards and district leaders to advocate for equitable policies and understand the impact of voucher programs on the systems they lead.
