This resolution directs the Austin City Manager to develop a proposal that would require construction contractors to ensure that, at minimum, 15% of construction workers on public projects are graduates or current students of registered apprenticeship or bilingual training programs. It also directs the City Manager to provide a proposal for partnering with community, labor, and faith organizations to connect underemployed residents with craft training, pre-apprenticeship, community college, and apprenticeship programs.
