Healthy riverscapes are critical natural infrastructure, yet many riverscapes are a remnant of their former footprints and no longer provide meaningful habitat or regulate the filtering of water. This fact sheet outlines how riverscape restoration can aid efforts to build resilience and adapt to climate change. It recommends adding whole trees including their roots, the creation of beaver dam analogs, and erosion control structures.
