2021 Chicago "Welcoming City" Ordinance O2021-117 Non-Compliance with ICE

This ordinance prohibits agents or agencies from participating in civil immigration enforcement operations or assisting the civil enforcement of federal immigration law. Specifically, they shall not stop, arrest, or detain a person based upon an administrative warrant, an immigration detainer, or the belief that the person is not present legally in the U.S. Additionally, they may not permit ICE agents access to a person being detained by the agency or agent, nor allow them use of agency facilities for investigative interview or other investigative purpose.
