This report finds that urban parks reduce air temperatures, air pollution, ultraviolet radiation, and atmospheric carbon dioxide. It recommends preserving and increasing urban tree cover, planting long-lived trees, reducing fossil fuel use in maintaining natural urban spaces, and planting trees in energy conserving locations.
