Type Policy Brief or Report
Year 2017
Level City or Town
State(s) California
Policy Areas Transportation & Mobility
Cities around the nation face issues with parking congestion, inefficient use of existing parking spaces, and increased parking demand that spills into residential neighborhoods. High-demand areas experience parking shortages and others go underutilized. Santa Rosa's comprehensive parking management strategy utilizes demand-responsive pricing to adjust rates based on occupancy, parking benefit districts which ensure revenues are reinvested locally, and an employee parking program to redistribute parking demand more effectively.
