Medium-sized counties and cities investing in data modernization efforts sometimes fail to fully leverage cloud-based solutions and advanced tools due to a lack of skilled staff and disproportionate amount of manual data processes. This report finds that most organizations and city officials are investing in data security and data storage, while underutilizing cloud services and other analysis techniques like Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. It argues that these services can provide large cost savings, improved services for constituents, and other benefits.
