Eliminating barriers to good health for Ohio's Black women

Black women are more likely than others to work jobs with limited access to health care and this impacts their health outcomes. This report from Ohio analyzes black women's access to medical services, barriers to their care, the financial stress attached to health care costs and provides policy recommendations. Best practices include funding Black-led public health and birthing programs, improving financial aid processes with accessible language and hospital pricing transparency standards, and declaring racism as a public health crisis.
