This study assesses the impact of higher wages on Walmart workers and consumers, and breaks down how these effects are distributed across income levels. Their analysis reveals that establishing a higher minimum wage for big box retail workers would significantly benefit workers living in poverty or near-poverty. Meanwhile, the costs of raising wages on consumers would be small and relatively dispersed.
