Equity in Practice: Strengthening Transit through Community Partnerships

Transit agencies must continually engage their residents to provide their community with safe, reliable, affordable, and accessible services. This report describes the benefits of Community Based Organizations (CBOs) and provides recommendations from the LA Metro Staff's CBO Partnering Strategy. Best practices include creating a database to connect Community Based Organization and transportation staff with information, partnership opportunities, and a charter process that guides transportation staff and CBO partnerships.
