Local governments play a crucial role in ensuring access to voting for all residents within their jurisdictions, and providing multilingual services at the polls can greatly assist residents for whom English is not a first language. This report provides an overview of the services that L.A. County has provided multilingual citizens to aid the voting process including translated election materials and polling place information, increasing recruitment of bilingual poll workers, establishing a multilingual hotline, and conducting community and voter outreach. It also recommends expanding partnerships with community organizations and technical assistance institutions and increasing awareness about the services that are available to multilingual residents.
