Title IV of this act creates the Community Schools Incentive Initiative, which will award multi-year grants to create community schools. A community school is a public and private partnership in a public or charter school that coordinates educational, developmental, family, health, and after-school-care programs for students, families, and local communities. This act requires the Mayor to create an advisory committee that will help create program performance measures, participate in the grantee selection process, and identify potential funding sources. The act also specifies requirements for the grant applications.
