This brief outlines steps cities can take to address the opioid epidemic; including promoting evidence-based prevention programs, advocating for expanded prevention, treatment, and recovery services, and reassessing approaches to policing. It also highlights opportunities - through the use of Medicaid, federal grants, and other resources - to expand these efforts.
