Type Policy Brief or Report

School infrastructure planning and municipal urban development are often planned for separately, resulting in duplicated investments and missed opportunities for collaboration. Local municipalities and school districts share the goal of improving educational outcomes, community development, and environmental protection for the next generation. Community leaders should integrate school space planning with community and regional development and incentivize coordination between school districts and local governments to improve efficiency, decrease congestion, and better serve all community members.
