This ordinance requires the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) to design and construct all new City transportation improvement projects to provide appropriate accommodation for pedestrians, bicyclists, transit riders, and disabled persons while promoting the safe operation for cars and trucks. This principle shall also be incorporated into SDOT's Transportation Strategic Plan, Seattle Transit Plan, Pedestrian Master Plan, Bicycle Master Plan, and other SDOT plans, rules, regulations, and programs.
