This ordinance prohibits owners, landlords, and management companies from refusing to sell, rent, or lease housing accommodations to any person because of their actual or perceived protected status. It also creates the Commission on Human Rights, which can refer complaints of discrimination in housing to administrative law judges employed by the county. The Commission staff enforces laws prohibiting discrimination in housing through investigations, conciliation, mediation, or hearings.
