Gaining Ground Series: Proactive Legislation in the States at Midyear, 2021

This report highlights several examples of proactive state policies that were enacted to improve abortion access in the first half of 2021. This report also discusses steps states have taken to mitigate racial disparities in maternal health. Policies aim to increase public awareness surrounding the issue, provide culturally appropriate care, and broaden postpartum insurance coverage.
