This ordinance amends the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to remediating lead water hazards in dwellings. In particular, it calls upon dwelling unit owners to reduce or eliminate lead-based paint hazards through the wet scraping and repainting, removal, encapsulation, enclosure, or replacement of lead-based paint. Furthermore, the ordinance also mandates owners to provide unit occupants with a certified water filtered pitcher, install and maintain a water filtration or treatment system, and analyze lead levels in the building's water at least once each year.
