Making Smart Choices: Transit-Oriented Development Selector Analysis of South Suburban Corridors

To support Chicago's initiative to expand transit-oriented development (TOD), the Center for Neighborhood Technology has conducted a preliminary analysis of the potential for TOD in 33 south suburban station areas; this report presents their findings. It finds that no south suburban station area has developed the scale of a Town Center TOD found in other suburbs of Chicago; more than a third of south suburban station areas possess elements of a Community Area TOD; some communities have already made land use and development choices towards TOD; and more.
