Early Educator Preparation Landscape

Unlike public school teachers teaching children 5 years or older, early education teachers lack policy that requires certification at the state level that maintains consistent level of quality education in the nation. Furthermore, higher education programs that are meant to prepare early childhood educators lack consistency across institutions, producing varying levels of proficiency in educators. This report analyses the various inefficiencies in early educator preparation and supposes large-scale improvements to address inequalities in early childhood education.
