This ordinance regulates police questioning of persons 17 years of age or younger. Specifically, the ordinance requires police officers to inform minors of their right to have a "responsible adult" present during questioning and to obtain written consent from the minor and their "responsible adult" before any questioning can take place. Additionally, the ordinance prohibits police officers from using deceptive tactics or making false promises to minors during questioning.
