Vision Zero is a strategy to eliminate traffic fatalities and severe injuries among all road users, and to ensure safe, healthy, equitable mobility for all. The Vision Zero approach recognizes that traffic deaths are preventable, meaning that system designers and policymakers should improve the roadway environment, policies (such as speed management), and other related systems to lessen the severity of crashes. This fact sheet describes Vision Zero and outlines what strategies need to be implemented to commit to this approach.
