An Overview: Community Schools

Community schools partner with service providers, health providers, after-school programs, youth centers, and other community organizations or providers to ensure holistic attention, education, and service provision for students. This report provides research-based strategies that allow for greater student-centered learning and community investment, including engaging and culturally relevant curricula, high-quality teaching, wraparound services, positive discipline practices, effective parent and community engagement, and inclusive school leadership.
