A Shortage of Affordable Homes

Low income individuals continue to struggle to find affordable, safe, and accessible housing. This report identifies that housing shortages disproportionately affects renters with the lowest incomes, people of color, seniors, and individuals living with disabilities and provides recommendations. Best practices include increased funding for Housing and Urban Development programs, investments in programs that preserve and expand the supply of deeply affordable units, and voucher program reforms.
