Structural violence reduces health outcomes through systemic stratification along race, class, and gender. People exposed to more structural violence are disproportionately likely to experience preterm birth. This report illustrates the role of structural violence in creating adverse prenatal conditions, and introduces policy measures to address health issues associated with preterm birth.
