2023 Denver Ordinance 22-1614 Preventing Wage Theft

Denver's wage theft prevention ordinance grants the City Attorney the authority to prosecute wage theft, prohibits employers from withholding wages or benefits from workers that are misclassified as independent contractors, and prevent workers from retaliation. It also imposes 12% annual interest on every case and ensures that complainants receive between 150% and 300% of unpaid wages as damages.
