Louisiana Blvd. Vision Zero Traffic Safety Project

High rates of traffic fatalities and injuries, particularly affecting pedestrians in Albuquerque's International District, highlight systemic neglect in transportation safety measures. The city plans to address these issues through the Louisiana Blvd. Vision Zero Traffic Safety Project, which includes pedestrian island refuges with hybrid beacons, buffered bike lanes, curb extensions, and green crosswalks.
