Workers face economic threats including eroding wages, unfair firings, union busting, and entrenched occupational segregation. As workers organize to fight back, they need local policymakers to implement new policies that raise labor standards and crack down on abuses. This report details a range of policies that state and local governments have made to protect workers, divided by five overarching goals: to empower workers to organize, to make effective pandemic policies permanent, to raise wages and improve job quality, to promote equitable access to jobs for Black and Hispanic workers, and to ensure cities have the resources necessary to sustain high-quality public services.
