In order to expand equitable access to high-quality child care, policy makers must simultaneously increase the supply of affordable child care and support the child care workforce. ProGov21's updated Affordable Child Care Roadmap outlines steps local governments can take to achieve comprehensive child care reform. Strategies include expanding publicly funded child care, investing in shared services alliances for home-based providers, and creating wage supports and career ladders for child care workers.
